1. Overview & Educational Purpose
StudyDump (studydump.vercel.app) is an open, student-maintained academic repository created to provide undergraduate engineering students with fast, calm access to lecture notes, question banks, cheatsheets, and mock assessments.
Our core architecture is strictly local-first and privacy-preserving. You can read any notes, download syllabi, or practice mock exams without signing up, creating an account, entering passwords, or providing personal profiles.
StudyDump is an independent student initiative created and curated by Sehjal Saxena. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Chitkara University or any other institution.
2. Information Saved on Your Device
To remember your study preferences, saved revision materials, and exam progress without sending your personal details to an external server database, StudyDump saves a few simple items directly in your browser on your own device:
- Your Display Name and Group: If you choose to personalize the header using the Student Profile button, your chosen name and academic group are stored locally in your browser so your study space stays personalized.
- Your Saved Bookmarks: The notes, subjects, and study materials you bookmark for fast revision are stored directly in your browser.
- Your Theme Preference: Your choice between Dark Mode and Light Mode for comfortable reading.
- Your Practice Progress: While taking mock assessments, your answers and elapsed timer are temporarily saved in your browser so you do not lose your work if you accidentally refresh the page.
- Offline Reading Files: If you use StudyDump offline, cached copies of note text and stylesheets are stored on your device so you can study without an active internet connection.
This information stays entirely on your personal device. It is never uploaded to our servers, sold, or shared with third parties.
3. Student Requests & Material Uploads
StudyDump includes an optional form where students can request missing lecture notes, suggest additions, or upload study handouts for their batch.
When you voluntarily submit this form:
- Contact Details: You provide your name and university email address solely so the developer can follow up on the material requested and confirm syllabus requirements. Submissions are restricted to university emails specifically to prevent automated spam.
- Direct Message: Your submission and any attached files or cloud links are delivered directly to the developer's administrative inbox.
- Strict Use: Your contact information is used solely to verify and add the requested academic materials. It is never sold, shared with marketing agencies, or retained for commercial spam.
4. Privacy-Preserving Web Analytics
To understand which subjects are most helpful to students, monitor website uptime, and celebrate overall readership milestones, StudyDump uses modern, privacy-respecting analytics tools.
- These tools measure aggregated, anonymous statistics such as total page visits and whether visitors are on mobile or desktop devices.
- They do not use advertising cookies, do not track you across other websites, and cannot identify you personally. IP addresses are anonymized.
- StudyDump does not build commercial browsing profiles, does not track individual students, and does not sell or display advertisements.
5. Interactive Practice & Code Sandbox
Our programming practice questions include an in-browser code runner so you can test code snippets directly while studying.
The code you write and run is executed right in your browser. Your practice drafts and problem attempts are not saved to our servers, logged in a central database, or shared with anyone else.
6. Infrastructure & File Hosting
StudyDump relies on reliable cloud infrastructure partners to serve content quickly:
- Vercel: Hosts our static web pages and delivers fast edge distribution.
- Cloudflare: Securely stores and serves large academic files, including official PDF handouts and syllabus documents, for fast student downloads.
These hosting providers maintain industry-standard security and process standard technical requests (such as network routing and CDN cache headers) necessary to deliver web pages to your device.
7. No Sale or Commercialization of Student Data
StudyDump is built as a free educational aid for students. We strictly declare that:
- We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade student information, browsing habits, or submission records with third-party data brokers, marketers, or advertisers.
- We do not partner with advertising networks or behavioral tracking corporations.
8. External Links & Third-Party Services
StudyDump includes hyperlinks to external web resources, including official university portals, recommended textbooks, YouTube educational channels, and developer portfolios.
We do not control the privacy practices, cookies, or content of third-party websites. When navigating away from StudyDump, we encourage you to inspect the privacy statements of those individual destinations.
9. Managing and Deleting Your Information
Because your study preferences and saved items are stored directly on your own device, you have complete autonomy over them at all times:
- Reset Your Profile: You can change or reset your stored name and group anytime by opening the Student Profile button in the top navigation bar.
- Clear Bookmarks: You can remove individual bookmarked items or clear all saved resources from the bookmarks menu.
- Clear All Site Data: You can erase all locally saved preferences, test progress, and offline notes at any time through your browser settings by clearing site data for StudyDump.
10. Device Security & Public Computer Notice
Because personalization items (such as your display name and saved bookmarks) reside in your browser's local memory on your device, students who access StudyDump on shared college laboratory terminals, library computers, or public devices are advised to:
- Use private browsing or incognito mode when studying on public or shared computers.
- Clear browser history and site data before logging out of shared lab terminals.
The developer is not responsible for any unauthorized viewing of your saved notes or profile resulting from use on shared, unmonitored, or compromised personal devices.
11. Sensitive Data & Unsolicited Submissions
Students submitting materials through the contribution form must only share appropriate, non-confidential study materials, syllabus files, and lecture notes.
Please do not transmit personal phone numbers, passwords, financial details, or confidential administrative records. In the event that any sensitive personal information is inadvertently submitted, it will be permanently deleted upon notice.
12. Updates to This Policy
As StudyDump expands with new study resources or practice features, this Privacy Policy will be kept up to date. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date.
